What’s a Credit Union? Credit Unions are not-for-profit financial institutions (like a bank) that are owned by their account holders, or “members.” While banks return their profits to their stockholders, credit unions return their profits to their members in the form of generally better rates and lower & fewer fees. Credit Unions are also very involved in the communities they serve. PFCU has supported Barrington National Night Out and the Barrington Township Food Pantry, to name a few.

Barrington Area Educators Credit Union was formed in 1956. In 2014, BAECU partnered with Niles Township Schools Credit Union, New Trier Federal Credit Union, and VAMCO Credit Union to form Partnership Financial Credit Union. We still serve Barrington 220 faculty and staff, but we are now open to everyone who lives or works within District 220 and the surrounding local communities.
